Salkehatchie

During their time at Salkehatchie Summer Service, youth and adult volunteers work with underprivileged families throughout the state of South Carolina. The goal of Salkehatchie is to ensure homes are repaired and updated to be comfortable for those in need.

This mission project is an important spiritual journey for youth, and for the adults that accompany them. During this week-long ministry, volunteers will put in a great deal of work, trust, hope, and prayer. Salkehatchie provides a new way to encounter Christ to all who volunteer.

Salkehatchie Summer Service has been an annual ministry of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference since 1978

Volunteering

There are many Salkehatchie camps in different counties throughout the summer. NEUMC typically attends Salkehatchie with another UMC church such as Trinity UMC in Blythewood. Please stay tuned for information on where NEUMC will volunteer in 2025!

Salkehatchie requires volunteer background checks and online registration. Please see links to the UMC Website for more information. Specific instructions, along with dates and times, will be released closer to the 2025 camp.
